The project activity is expected to increase recovery and reuse of material by an additional 20% and destroy up to 73% of the material through combustion, conversion to water removal, and biogas generation. Through the combination of material recovery and material destruction, the City of Tangerang can preserve its landfill space and optimizes its use for longer-term plans, thus securing their ability to fulfill this fundamental public service.
