Rawa Kucing Integrated Waste Treatment Facility

This project represents a comprehensive waste treatment and management facility combining various techinology of waste sorting, combustion, food waste digestion, and final disposal. With a USD185million investment, it is expected to provide the Municipal Government of the City of Tangerang with a long-term and environmentally-friendly waste management infrastructure to support its economic growth. Construction is expected to commence 2022-2024.

Project Developers

Oligo-Infra takes leadership in the development of this concept through a tendered Technical & Financial Proposal completed in March 2020. Oligo’s development is supported by a number of asia-pacific institutions including The Asian Entrepreneur Legacy (TAEL) Partner Ltd. and ResourceCo Australia Ltd. This is to be TAEL’s second undertaking in the waste-to-energy sectors, after a first successful one in Bangkok, and and ResourceCo’s third recycling plant after similar facility in Adelaide, Sydney, and Malaysia.

For the project’s implementation, Oligo relies on a number of international consulting firms as its EPCM and financial advisors to ensure smooth deliveries and executions.

Partnership with City of Tangerang and PLN

The Projects represents partnerships between private investing entity and City of Tangerang and Indonesia’s utility company PLN. Each of these represent significantly important stakeholder in sharing the risks and responsibilities to spring this development forward. Whereas Oligo is responsible to raise fund and implements the project, City of Tangerang contributes through provision of land, collection of wastes, as well as pay-per-use waste management fee.

Additionally, every kwh of power generated by the project are to be sold to the utility grid to lower the pay-per-use waste management fees so that tax-payers of the City of Tangerang can afford such facilities.
